# Can I create a custom materialized view materialisation for Snowflake?

Hi there, I’m looking to create a materialized view materialization for snowflake. What happened to the option to create a custom materialization described in the legacy documentation?

What do you mean? This behaviour is still possible.
Before building your own implementation though, check out [https://github.com/dbt-labs/dbt-labs-experimental-features/tree/main/materialized-views](https://github.com/dbt-labs/dbt-labs-experimental-features/tree/main/materialized-views) which has an unofficial implementation you could use as-is or as a jumping off point.

All good! _Legacy_ refers to the fact that these guides aren’t up to the standards of new guides we’re writing, not that their contents are obsolete. We might have to rethink that label though as it’s confused a couple of people!
