# Connection issues regarding DBT cloud to Amazon RDS PostgreSQL

I tried to connect to Amazon RDS PostgreSQL from dbt cloud following the steps without configuring SSH tunnel. Does it work without the SSH tunnel configurations or is it mandatory to follow all the tunnel and bastian steps mentioned in - [Connect Redshift, PostgreSQL, and AlloyDB | dbt Developer Hub](https://docs.getdbt.com/docs/cloud/connect-data-platform/connect-redshift-postgresql-alloydb)  
Please help
