# Unable to save new file or edit example files

## I Have signed up and connected my dbt with snowflake. while creating new sql file and the “save as option is gray” and i cannot save file.

similarly if i try to edit example files in side of models i can not edit them as it says “cannot edit in read only mode”

Please help me to save files

Hi there 👋

From what I could find, this happens because you are in the main branch (which is read-only), to solve this you need to create a new branch first.
