dbt’s VS Code experience is becoming a real Analytics Engineering IDE

The new Catalog (Beta) view inside VS Code is a surprisingly big upgrade.

Now you can see:

:white_check_mark: tests
:white_check_mark: model metadata
:white_check_mark: governance context

The new COMPARE (BETA) view in the dbt VS Code Extension brings software-engineering style diffing directly into analytics engineering.Instead of relying on manual validation queries, you can now visually compare:

:white_check_mark: Deferred vs Dev relations
:white_check_mark: Modified rows
:white_check_mark: Column-level changes
:white_check_mark: Primary key differences
:white_check_mark: Row-level diffs inside VS Code

This significantly improves debugging, CI validation and developer confidence before deployment.
Really excited to see dbt Labs continuing to push the developer experience forward for analytics engineers.
