Small update:
I started tinkering with the dbt-fal library in my conda environment. It looks like the wrong variables are being used and is causing the issue. I’m not sure how the person in the answer I attached was able to get Athena working wit dbt-fal just by pip installing, but the code looks incorrect.
I’ll head over to the github and see if I can either ask the maintainer to update it or if they’ll accept a PR with my updates. Hopefully this will help someone else looking to use python with athena
