We are building out our dbt Semantic Layer but we are looking for a BI tool to use with it. The BI tool needs to be geared towards business user self service where they can easily create tables and chart from the metrics and dimension defined in the semantic layer. Has anyone come across a product that does this or maybe created one in house for their business users?

From there, I recommend checking out Steep, it’s metrics-oriented, very simple to use, and well-suited for self-service by business and less technical users.
I’ve tried Tableau and Power BI — they are much more powerful, but they also come with a tough learning curve.
I really encourage hearing several opinions on this topic, as it has many important nuances.
