Looker seems to be preferred BI tool?

Hey everyone… we use a Snowflake/Fivetran/DBT/Tableau data stack here, but one of our new data hires wants to try out Looker. I’ve noticed that Looker is very commonly mentioned alongside DBT, but I’ve also seen DBT mentioned as an alternative to LookML for implementing business logic.

  1. Is Looker better than Tableau at visualization even if you don’t need the LookML features?
  2. Or is LookML still pretty useful even when using DBT?

Does anyone use both Looker and Tableau?

On the visualisation side it’s probably a matter of taste and use case.
